I've been fighting it...but I really really want one. Two actually. One for the bedroom one for the "TV room." (a curious name, since we have a TV in 6 out of 7 rooms.)
Tell me it's worth it! (I think we have to pay more for HD cable though, and I'm not sure we're ready to make that kind of commitment.)

Honestly, we're hardly watching any SD anymore, unless we have to. And we're watching all kinds of stuff we didn't watch before (ie. the Bacon Brothers Live) because it's available in HD.
Also, for you in 2009, aren't all the US stations only going to be broadcasting in HD?
Holy crow that's a lot of TVs for two people.
