Not linking, just asking
I'm not going to link to "that site" and I'm not even going to talk about it openly (not like the government would actually notice this blog, but better safe than sorry). I just have one request. Should Justice Gomery lift the publication ban at 2 p.m. today, and Canadian voters can get a look at the controversial testimony, can someone do me a favour? Explain to me, in terms I understand, what these pay-offs were intended to do. That's all I need to know, right now.
It may speak volumes about my intellectual shortcomings, but I have found the recent writings of an fairly biased American call-centre manager more clear on this issue than the Canadian media has ever been.

Update: Seems the ban has been partially lifted. Does this mean that we can now openly thank Captian Ed? Either way I'm going to. Thank you

I can do that even without the publication ban being lifted, as it's not illegal to speculate.
If the testimony were to show, for instance, that a portion of the Federal funds earmarked for "Federal Sponsorship of Cultural Activities" (in the environs of $250M) were actually used for Liberal Party events (ie: Liberal Party fundraisers, Liberal Party conventions, Liberal Party appointments, etc) then, essentially, those responsible would be guilty of a bunch of violations of federal party funding regulations and most likely criminal fraud.

Ha! I saw that this entry had one comment, and I knew instantly that it was from Mike. And as usual, he was concise and insightful. Thanks as always, Mike

Indeed. Thank you Mike. It's much easier to have a stance on the whole thing when you understand what's happening. You da man.

Generally speaking, when it comes to the Liberal Party of Canada, having the stance of "indignant outrage" usually covers things.
