Up to all kinds of trouble

I kind of snapped this week. I got it into my head that I would get ALL my Christmas shopping done by the end of the weekend. And you know what's a little scary, I've almost done it. One stocking stuffer, a toy for an eight-year-old and something "just so" for a good friend and I'm done. It's November 21st and I'm almost done. Everything that's been purchased or delivered has been wrapped and is now sitting under a Christmas tree that was decorated without any fights or fowl moods.

Such a sick, sick puppy I am.

Holiday merriment ALSO favors the prepared mind. You are one smart Christmas cookie!

Would you believe that, not only am I wrapped, I am even in the packing and shipping stage? Of course you would, I'm no longer working 70-hour weeks.

I would believe it, since your present shipped today. :-) Glad to hear the work load is less evil. I hope you like your mechanical penguin. (I'm kidding)

So, what you're saying is that if I haven't even compiled my list of people that I want to buy presents for ... I'm in trouble?

And that you're not coming to the One of a Kind Show this year?

Just checking ...

Eep! I haven't written my list... I haven't even started thinking about it... but I have come up with a cute Christmas card idea. Does that count for anything?

I don't see how having my shopping done excludes me from the One-of-a-Kind show. Not having the time to go and not being a fan of large crowds, now that's something that could exclude me.

Gah! Picture me running around like Grover with my arms flailing about over my head. I am so jealous that you're done! (mostly) I can't even get John to make a list with me. *fret fret*

I thought about doing christmas shopping this weekend. I even went to Bath and Body Works with a coupon in hand. Of course I did that 10 minutes before my movie was supposed to start and got instantly overwhelmed by the selection and irrationally pissed off when a sales lady asked if she could help me. Perhaps I should do all my shopping online.

Are you going to post a photo of the tree? The ornaments look lovely.

I impressed/terrified my family by finishing my stocking stuffer shopping this weekend. (Which doesn't sound like a big accomplishment, but it's something that normally takes more time than buying presents. Also, I help to fill stockings for seven.)

Plus, I took a sick day on Thursday and between resting up and drinking tea I also finished wrapping them. (Yes, in my family we wrap stocking stuffers. We're funny that way.) I've also been elbow deep in homemade Christmas ornaments since early October. I'm filled with Christmas cheer. Santa's got nothing on me.

Apparently even I have nothing on you, though. ;)

Ty, I'd say you've got lots on me. Slapping down a credit card is nothing in comparison to making your own ornaments. That freaking rocks.

Oh and my family wraps stocking stuffers too. Who doesn't?

My family wraps their stocking stuffers, too. Although my mom is the one who does everyone's stockings... including her own. For a few years there she was going hog-wild with them. They weren't stockings, they were garbages bags (literally).

And where did you get those scrumptuous ornaments?

The silver sparkly ones on the right are from a store in Stratford that was going out of business last spring. The blue and silver ones on the left, I don't actually know where I got them. I'm going to assume they're from my mother, from my old apartment (and tiny tree) in Kingston. The glass one up front was also a gift from my mother, which I think she got for me a Old n' Green, again in Kingston.

The turquiose one beside Luke in the post from yesterday is from a fabric shop in Innsbruke. There are a bunch from Salzburg (in all seriousness the only things we brought back from that trip were Christmas ornaments), glass and/or plastic musical instruments (and couple of kittys, snowflakes and angels)from my mum and the remaining balls, ribbon and tree topper are from IKEA.
